From Finance Director to Leadership Advisor
My career began in finance roles across audit, law, architecture, motor repair, and retail. By my late twenties, I launched my own accountancy practice. Within two years, I scaled it from 5 clients to 200, employing 18 staff. At the same time, I became Group Finance and Commercial Director of Steadman Group, helping the business grow revenues 20-fold and expand internationally across multiple African markets. I represented Kenya at the ACCA International Assembly in London, earned my MBA in Finance, and qualified as a Fellow of both ACCA and CIMA. I also began working with boards on governance, strategy, and leadership alignment, improving tone at the top and driving performance gains. In 2003, I moved to the UK, sold my practice, and retrained under Dr John Carver, becoming one of fewer than 300 global consultants in Policy Governance. After retraining, I continued working at the sharp end of business. In the UK, I coached and appraised the leadership of a security company, helping them shift their mindset through deep immersive sessions. I helped a motor repair company through a period of change. I worked with a financial services company on their transformation. I also kept working internationally, serving as a board adviser for manufacturing companies, working at executive level for a retail business, conducting leadership appraisals for a travel company, and training directors and executives across steel and cement companies. Every engagement reinforced the same pattern: the gaps are universal. Alongside this, I built online leadership and finance programmes, all of which received the UK Trade and Investment Green Light status award. These experiences across continents, industries, and boardrooms shaped the methodology I use today.

After advising 100+ CEOs and training thousands of leaders globally, I discovered something: Most leadership teams operate at 40-60% of their true capacity. Not because they lack talent.
